Teakwood builds dream fort as part of Make-A-Wish program
Over the summer, Teakwood Builders was approached by the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York with a compelling request: Local fourth grader Jacob Shell was battling cancer and had wished for a new tree fort, and Teakwood was asked to help make the wish come true. Joining forces with Curtis Lumber–who donated all the materials to the project–Team Teak mobilized, and over the course of several weekends in July and August built Fort Shell in Burnt Hills. In mid-September, with Jacob recently declared cancer-free after a tough 2-year battle with neuroblastoma, Fort Shell was officially unveiled. Members of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Curtis Lumber, and Jacob’s family joined Teakwood president Jim Sasko in celebrating.
